エバーフローリスとは・・・。地球上のすべての生命体の起源は宇宙にあります。1984年、アメリカ航空宇宙開発局（ＮＡＳＡ）が打ち上げたスペースシャトルに25,000粒のセントポーリアの種子が載せられました。6年間に及ぶ宇宙空間にさらされた種子は驚くべき変異をもたらしました。宇宙船と無重力の環境がセントポーリアの性質を大きく変えたのです。この25,000粒の種子から生まれたスペースベイビーは、改良が加えられ、従来のセントポーリアの1.5倍の大きさに育ち、花立ちが著しく良く、1枚の葉から2本も3本の花茎が上がる画期的な変身を成し遂げたのです。そして更に、花は次々に咲き続け、まさに、エバーフローリスの名前にふさわしいセントポーリアが誕生したのです。
